Whilst I'm working on more, and all of the other crap I have to wade through, please enjoy this pile of rubbish.

#27

My flesh may tear,
It may be scarred.
My bones may break,
Break into shards.
My skin may sizzle,
In a fire so great.
My lungs may fill
With water from a lake.
My soul tortured
In the depths of hell.
But I have a pain much worse –
No one can tell.

Home Comforts

Trying real hard to work through everything that's going on right now. Each and every one of us has our own way of dealing with the stress: games, food, drugs (and don't think caffeine and alcohol aren't included here); but at what cost does it come? How about a poem to express how I feel after my comfort..........

#45

Paranoid sensitivity
At its finest;
In a list
With those unwanted.
Little to no dignity,
Just a modicum of trust.
Tunnel vision’s a must.

Quickened anxiety.
It’s impending,
Pursuing humming;
A grinding machine!
Spitting out your comfort,
Leaving you with what?
Usually squat.

A lonesome down
Is never amiss
But who really needs this?
Fuck it........

Ramblings of a Young Man

Just checking out some of my oldies, going through my book, my notes, the death notes I wrote in my own blood........anyway, I managed to pop this one out quickly in reflection of this.

The fuck I just read?
All this talk of girls,
Obsession and possession.
Not one thought
That isn't destructive
What on Earth was I thinking?
Clearly irrelevant.

Where Has the Time Gone?!

Last year of Uni, get crazy with my band, co-hosting a radio show, and having a new girl in my life has restricted my time to an incredible degree. Many minutes, hours, days and weeks have been lost, and no longer did I have time for my writing. But fuck it! Lets have another crack at it anyway.

Lately my words have been rusty, all my lines and stanzas have lost their rhythm (that rhythm being transferred to the skins and cymbals of my drum kit), so here's hoping I haven't lost it. That's if I had it in the first place. I still have a few in the backlog, so I will publish them soon. But firstly, I shall leave my latest skid-mark on the literary world right here for you all to see. Enjoy!

Seaside overcast
Winters gloom
Sirens
Of impending doom

Hyperbole?
Maybe
Sincerity?
Likely

For my mind’s
Weaker
But my heart’s
Still a seeker

But seeking what?
Light, of course
Resembling?
Hopefully.......Hope

Back on the Literary Wagon

After taking a long summer break here, I have many books to discuss, many poems to publish, short stories to get through, topics to discuss, and many random statements to make. So here's hoping the next few months will be in literature's favour.

Whilst you wait, I'm going to plug my bands new live E.P. that was recorded at the most welcoming London music venue, T-chances in beautiful Tottenham. If your a fan of easy classic/psychedelic rock then get on this link right here!

Summer Jams

I love all forms of creative arts, especially music, so I thought I'd take the time to compile a list of bands to enjoy the summer to....because why not:

The Clash:
A band that's easy listening but also have some rockin' tunes. Some great songs for the summer to relax to, mainly because of all the reggae influence. Best song for the summer - Revolution Rock

Bob Marley:
This ones a given. If it's written in the sun, then it should be listened to in the sun. Best song for the summer - All of them, there's nothing that would ruin your day.

Generation X:
Another good old punk band that's just nice to listen to and isn't all in your face. My idol, Billy Idol, fronts this band so if your a fan of his then you'd love what he did before he went solo. Best song for the summer - English Dream

Pixies:
One crazy band, but they know how to make some good music that's perfect for the summer. Best song for the summer - Wave of Mutilation (UK Surf Version)

The Doors:
Great classic band, not all summery tunes but definitely have some that fit right in with the sun. Best song for the summer -  Peace Frog

Ian Dury & The Blockheads:
Who doesn't want a bit of light-hearted rock during the summer. Best song for the summer -

Modest Mouse:
Whatever song you listen to, you'll find yourself thinking, 'What is this?' They'll never cease to surprise you. Best song for the summer - Sleepwalking

Placebo:
Drug-fuelled and angsty, but also calming and thought provoking, this band has always held a place in my rhythmically beating heart. Best song for the summer -

Red Hot Chili Peppers:
Any list cannot be without this band, they're for anyone to listening at anytime but in the warmth of the sun their music becomes just a tad better. Best song for the summer - Warm Tape

The Breeders:
The Pixies bassist, Kim Deal, formed this band with her sister. Similar feel to pixies with just a touch more of that beach music tone. Best song for the summer - No Aloha

There are many more, but that's for you to find.

Well I Lied, Okay?

I may not have any finished work yet (inspiration's pretty low right now). But, my eyes have been keen on many subjects recently. Now those I can rant about very soon, so this space isn't going to be this empty for too much longer.

Keeping up Appearances

I haven't been able to keep up with a lot of my creative work, or even had a chance to ramble this past week, due to preparing for a final showdown with a topic I dearly despise.........Geospatial Sciences. As you can tell from the subject title that it is indeed full of wondrous excitement and can leave one in hour-long thoughts questioning the existence of geography, and its many capabilities. And, quite rightly, I'm being hugely sarcastic.

I do have some more work on the way, in the form of poetry. But whilst you wait, here are some articles that are well worth checking out:

1. 8 Famous People Whose Creativity & Innovation Was Inspired By LSD

It's interesting to see the people who were inspired so greatly by something that a lot of people perceive as harmful. Especially when considering how these people have done some inspiring things themselves.

2. Bill Nye Explains Why Racism Doesn't Exist In The Animal Kingdom

Here Bill Nye featured on the satirical The Nightly Show, and was simply asked: 'Does racism exist in the animal kingdom?'. His explanation is worth a few moments of your spare time.

3. The Damned documentary gets release date

I wanted to sneak this in because I am personally looking forward to this. The trailer gives a glimpse of what to expect from the documentary that depicts the work of a legendary punk band that encompassed the angst-y times of the few decades they were active.

4. 4th Grader Rocks Common Core Education By Asking School Board One Question

This brave young girl takes the chance to question and shoot down the idea of high-stake exams in school that label students as number (the score of the exam). Not many people enjoy exams in school, and there's a reason why. Watch the video in this article to get a better idea of the effects of these exams on young students.
