After taking a long summer break here, I have many books to discuss, many poems to publish, short stories to get through, topics to discuss, and many random statements to make. So here's hoping the next few months will be in literature's favour.
Whilst you wait, I'm going to plug my bands new live E.P. that was recorded at the most welcoming London music venue, T-chances in beautiful Tottenham. If your a fan of easy classic/psychedelic rock then get on this link right here!

Summer Jams
I love all forms of creative arts, especially music, so I thought I'd take the time to compile a list of bands to enjoy the summer to....because why not:
The Clash:
A band that's easy listening but also have some rockin' tunes. Some great songs for the summer to relax to, mainly because of all the reggae influence. Best song for the summer - Revolution Rock
Bob Marley:
This ones a given. If it's written in the sun, then it should be listened to in the sun. Best song for the summer - All of them, there's nothing that would ruin your day.
Generation X:
Another good old punk band that's just nice to listen to and isn't all in your face. My idol, Billy Idol, fronts this band so if your a fan of his then you'd love what he did before he went solo. Best song for the summer - English Dream
Pixies:
One crazy band, but they know how to make some good music that's perfect for the summer. Best song for the summer - Wave of Mutilation (UK Surf Version)
The Doors:
Great classic band, not all summery tunes but definitely have some that fit right in with the sun. Best song for the summer - Peace Frog
Ian Dury & The Blockheads:
Who doesn't want a bit of light-hearted rock during the summer. Best song for the summer -
Modest Mouse:
Whatever song you listen to, you'll find yourself thinking, 'What is this?' They'll never cease to surprise you. Best song for the summer - Sleepwalking
Placebo:
Drug-fuelled and angsty, but also calming and thought provoking, this band has always held a place in my rhythmically beating heart. Best song for the summer -
Red Hot Chili Peppers:
Any list cannot be without this band, they're for anyone to listening at anytime but in the warmth of the sun their music becomes just a tad better. Best song for the summer - Warm Tape
The Breeders:
The Pixies bassist, Kim Deal, formed this band with her sister. Similar feel to pixies with just a touch more of that beach music tone. Best song for the summer - No Aloha
There are many more, but that's for you to find.

Well I Lied, Okay?
I may not have any finished work yet (inspiration's pretty low right now). But, my eyes have been keen on many subjects recently. Now those I can rant about very soon, so this space isn't going to be this empty for too much longer.

Keeping up Appearances
I haven't been able to keep up with a lot of my creative work, or even had a chance to ramble this past week, due to preparing for a final showdown with a topic I dearly despise.........Geospatial Sciences. As you can tell from the subject title that it is indeed full of wondrous excitement and can leave one in hour-long thoughts questioning the existence of geography, and its many capabilities. And, quite rightly, I'm being hugely sarcastic.
I do have some more work on the way, in the form of poetry. But whilst you wait, here are some articles that are well worth checking out:
1. 8 Famous People Whose Creativity & Innovation Was Inspired By LSD
It's interesting to see the people who were inspired so greatly by something that a lot of people perceive as harmful. Especially when considering how these people have done some inspiring things themselves.
2. Bill Nye Explains Why Racism Doesn't Exist In The Animal Kingdom
Here Bill Nye featured on the satirical The Nightly Show, and was simply asked: 'Does racism exist in the animal kingdom?'. His explanation is worth a few moments of your spare time.
3. The Damned documentary gets release date
I wanted to sneak this in because I am personally looking forward to this. The trailer gives a glimpse of what to expect from the documentary that depicts the work of a legendary punk band that encompassed the angst-y times of the few decades they were active.
4. 4th Grader Rocks Common Core Education By Asking School Board One Question
This brave young girl takes the chance to question and shoot down the idea of high-stake exams in school that label students as number (the score of the exam). Not many people enjoy exams in school, and there's a reason why. Watch the video in this article to get a better idea of the effects of these exams on young students.

Time is Weird
Well here's a stinker, I've had so much free time on my hands I decided to think about my own mortality; life and death. You know, that depressing stuff. With all the time reflecting on these issues I came across a few things worth discussing. Here it comes!
Existence is not easily questionable. Yet we seem to believe that we must seek the purpose of life, of any form of existence. Years of philosophy, war, belief, enlightenment, and drudgery have not brought us these answers, still many have established different views, some even claiming they know the answer. But we are no closer than we was when the question was first asked; Why was life created, and what is its purpose?

Years of philosophy, war, belief, enlightenment, and drudgery have not brought us these answers, still many have established different views, some even claiming they know the answer. But we are no closer than we was when the question was first asked; Why was life created, and what is its purpose?
I say that this question is no longer valid.
Light is being shed on how life came into existence, and the functionality of
life through the miracles of science. As for our purpose, I believe we have no
purpose. Our lives are simply for our own pleasure. We are free to do as we
wish, seek out what we want, and create the illusion that what we do is for a
reason. There may be legitimate reasons for the things that we do, but its
based on the belief that these reasons matter to others, an illusion created in
your mind to fulfil what you believe is the purpose for your existence but is
for your own pleasure.
There is still a purpose for us
to question life, but stick to the details, our minds do not have the capacity
at this time to understand the grand scheme of things, we just need to learn to
deal with that. Just keep that in mind.

Well Fuck
So Cameron's back as the PM. Here's what we're in for:
- Privatization of NHS
- Human rights being scrapped and his own put in place
- Benefits for younger people removed without any indication of job placements
- Cuts.......many, many cuts
- Wanting to be independent from Europe
- Accepting no legal help from European professionals because he's a big boy and can do it himself.
Now I'm certainly not a religious person, but I'm thinking about it. God help us all.................

Let's Kick-Start This Shit
Not a lot has been written by these hands for a while. Plenty of notes floating around, but nothing solid. Don't worry as there soon will be. For now, here's one I feel has relevance (I'm not going to say what its relevant to, its poetry, you figure it out):
A mongrel's loyalty
Dissipates in mating season;
Without the threats
From the daily news.
He sees his chance
For the embrace of the wild.
But what of the others?
Those wolves?
No time for Cowards.
You can contact me through this email address: portaltopoetry@gmail.com, drop me any questions, give me some feedback, share your ramblings with me. Do whatever you like, I possibly couldn't care less.
Be back soon.

I Guess I'm Back Again............Again
Having spent most of my recent time lazing around, feeling sorry for myself, I decided I should come back to this wonderful grove of rambling to get myself out of the mental pit I had dug for myself. Now we're back on the road, I'll be squeezing out random turdlets of ideas, scribblings, and possible mental breakdowns.
Oh, and the poetry's back too.
If there's a chance of anyone actually giving a shit about any of this and want to continue to read my words, then congrats, you're insane. Just make sure you check up on my new ramblings later on.
Stay awesome arseholes.
